I know they're very rare but that aside, I really do not understand why
Eric Burntlett's Unassisted Triple Play for the Phillies against the Mets last night is really a big enough deal to warrant the lead headline on the American sports websites this morning. Anyone get it?
That was pretty unimpressive actually.
ReplyDeleteBaseball itself blows. It was great while the damned thing was on strike a decade ago...
ReplyDeleteBaseball is a very large "stats driven" sport. They make a huge deal out of every little thing. One of the dumbest stats in it is "hitting for the cycle", which means you get a hr, triple, double and a base hit. How dumb and pointless is this? Wouldn't you rather just hit two hrs and call it a day?
